WBCs Drop a Little

Today's report told me that WBCs have dropped from 1300 to 900. Platelets are also living on the edge at 2000 (a healthy person roughly has platelets in the range of 150,000 up to 450,000 platelets ). So it looks like I will have my third platelet transfusion in span of 5 days.
Am I taken aback by the drop of WBCs? Not at all! Drop has happened in past during my chemo cycles as well. So I was mentally prepared for this. You know how sometimes when you have to jump over a short wall you realize that you are too close to the wall. So you move backwards so that you have enough speed to make the jump of the right height. Probably that is what my WBCs intend doing :).
I will have more updates for all of you tomorrow. Till then, all you good people, keep me in your prayers and hope for the best. I am cheerful and not at all affected by this downward slide. :)

  1. Chi Kartik: Certainly one should not get disheartenedd by ups and downs. It could be a part of a good game. Positive approach always helps.
You must have realised by now that reading and writting a book are two quite different interests

  2. Hello again Kartik ... bummer about the WBC cells .. well we will have to give them a harder push I guess .. give them all the running space they need and then push them high up the wall.
At this end Bharatmasa's (Baroda) illness has all of us in a state of worry. Lets hope he recovers soon.
Gautam amd Siddharth are in the last month of summer vacation and will be sad to see it end.
With strong positive vibes coming your way as always, love, Chandana

  3. Thank you Sugnafai. You are absolutely right about difference between reading and writing book. Likewise experiencing something and hearing about it are two different things. I couldn't have learned that lesson better had this illness not happened.

  5. I know where those 400 WBCs went. They went to celebrate Kishor Kumar's b'day. They sould come back soon with double in numbers.
    To WBCs:
Zarurat Hai, Zarurat Hai... Sakht Zarurat hai...
    Zarurat Hai, Zarurat Hai...Zarurat Hai,
Thode aur count kee, Thode aur count kee,
    Seva kare jo platelets kee

  7. hi kartik mama, well here's my take on this-
your body is like a theme park, with different organs as different rides. The WBC's are like a roller coaster ride-sometimes having having steep drops, inversions and high points, but eventually landing on a stable platform.so the wbc's will surely come back,or maybe they are waiting to surprise you on raksha bandhan!
