I got two units of packed cells transfused today. Transfusion went off really well. There was a chance that I might need a platelet transfusion tomorrow as well. However, platelets seem to have held the fort well since the last blood report. They continued to stay at 9000 - even after a gap of 4 days, which is awesome.

Kartik,
ReplyDeleteSounds like good progress! Keep it up.
Make sure you also get a healthy transfusion of fun and laughter on a regular basis. You probably have seen this (online as well as in reality since you live in Pune), but just in case: http://www.busybeescorp.com/puneripatya/
Have fun,
- Vin
Slow and steady wins the race no?
ReplyDeleteNo I haven't Vin. I saw a few signboards and they were hilarious! :) Thanks for sending the link.
ReplyDeleteTrue Grant. My wife and I were talking about slow and steady progress just today. It has been only a few months since transplant and I need to give it more time to come back to normalcy.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing we noticed that a year back my body was bleeding even with 40k platelets. And now it doesn't even with 9k platelets. That's interesting. We were wondering if my body has adapted itself in the minimalistic conditions :).
Very good . Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteToday Sugnafai has gone to Rajkot to be with Harivadanbhai Who is rather not well. Since Kaka kaki are alone they need somebody to be with them. Though Rajkot family members are looking after them properly they need somebody at this stage. Chetna's Sasu is also critical and is in the hospital with brain stroke. God may give her peace.
